What You Need To Know

Our classes are perfect for those of all ages interested in beginning or returning to class. We are easy going and welcoming. From those who have always wanted to give it a try to those looking to get back at it, we are here for you. No matter your age or skill level, no stress, no worries, no judgement. Just dance.
How do I figure out tuition fees?

The class prices are listed per class for 1 full quarter with the intent of taking class all 4 quarters. Classes are progressive in nature so beginning in the fall is the best. We offer a $5 Early Payment Discount, per family when tuition is paid in full by the due date, generally the last class of the previous quarter, and a $10 discount for each additional family member living in the same home.

When is tuition due?
Tuition is due in full upon registration and by the first class of each quarter. However, payments plans are available.

May I join late?
Yes! Full tuition is due for the quarter regardless of when you join. If you join late will be given a class pass for each class you have missed. You may use them in any level appropriate class. Class Passes are also transferable. You can hand them out to family and friends.

All about ballet slippers.

Ballet slippers do not have a right or left foot. In fact the slippers will last longer if you switch feet each class. To prepare your slippers, begin by putting them on and tightening the elastic binding. Be careful to not over tighten or it will cut into the back of your foot during class. Once you get it perfect for your foot, tie a sturdy knot and bow. When heading into class tuck the bow into the shoe when putting it on. Bows should not be visible in class.
All clothing and shoes are available next door to Room To Move Studio at Dressed To Groove.
Please support local stores over the big box retailers. Click Here For More Info

What if I miss a class?
Missed classes may be made up in any other level appropriate class within the same quarter. Missed classes may be made up prior to the missed class when applicable; vacations etc. No refunds will be given for missed classes.

Can I wear pointe shoes?
In a word, maybe. All students are encouraged to work towards dancing en pointe if they choose to do so. However, students MUST have instructors permission. Playing around in pointe shoes can be very dangerous without supervision. Beginning pointe students must must be enrolled in 2 weekly ballet classes. Experienced dancers may wear pointe shoes in all teen/adult classes.

Is there a recital?
Yes! Each spring we host our student recital. We alternate between 'Gala Picnic' & 'Production' years. In a Gala year each class performs a  dance at our recital picnic held at Heritage Park in Crete. We use basics as our performance attire and it is free to attend. In a Production year the entire program works together on a larger scale mini story ballet held at Nathan Manilow Theater at Freedom Hall in Park Forest. We invest in stage costumes and ticket fees apply.

Can we watch class?
Sadly, no. We do offer picture times during the first part of class for new students and special viewing days throughout the year but we do not have a viewing window for regular watching of classes. During nice weather you are welcome to watch through out front windows. There are chairs and benches on our porch for you to wait if you would like.
