When is tuition due? Tuition is due in full on the 15th of Sept, Nov, Jan & March. Or, every other month. Take $5 off of your total quarterly tuition when you make your payment in full on or before the due date. Payments plans available.
May I join late? Yes! New students may join at any time during the first quarter. Your tuition will be prorated accordingly. Pre Ballerinas may join at any time during first semester.
All about ballet slippers. Ballet slippers do not have a right or left foot. They are both the same. In fact the slippers will last longer if you switch feet each class. To prepare your ballet slippers, begin by putting them on and tightening the elastic binding. Be careful to not over tighten it or it will cut into the back of your foot during class. Once you get it perfect for your foot, tie a sturdy knot and bow. When heading into class tuck the bow into the shoe when putting it on. You do not want to see the bow in class. All clothing and shoes are available next door to Room To Move Studio at Dressed To Groove. Please support local stores over the big box retailers. Click Here For More Info
What if I miss a class? Missed classes may be made up in any other level appropriate class. No refunds will be given for missed classes.
Can I wear pointe shoes? In a word, maybe. All students are encouraged to work towards dancing en pointe if they choose to do so. However, students MUST have instructors permission. Playing around in pointe shoes can be very dangerous without supervision. Beginning pointe students must must be enrolled in 2 weekly ballet classes. Experienced dancers may wear pointe shoes in all teen/adult classes.
Is there a recital? ~ 2019/20 is a production year Yes! Our program concludes each June with our participation in Room To Move's yearly showcase 'Time To Groove'. We alternates between 'Gala' & 'Production' years. In a Gala year each class performs a themed dance. In a Production year the entire program works together on a larger scale mini story ballet. Costume & Ticket Fees Apply. All students perform in 2 shows on one day; 12:30p & 5:30p with the exception of Pre Ballet which only perform in the matinee show. All students are required to perform and help back stage for the entirety of each show. Students are released between shows. Parents are not required to attend both shows. Intermission hosts a bake sale. Donations are appreciated. Volunteers to work backstage during the performances are also appreciated. * Tickets are $12 pre sale/ $15 beginning June 1st. Costume fees are $70 per style of dance and due Feb 15th. We take measurements in class that week. Costumes arrive mid May. Room To Move hosts a picture day on Sat June 2nd to be photographed in your beautiful costume. Can we watch class? Sadly, no. We only have curtains that separate the waiting areas from the studio. We keep the curtains closed during class as to keep distractions to a minimum. Parents are more than welcome to peek in from time to time but please refrain from distracting class. Keep voices and any electronic devices low. Parents are welcome to drop off their child or use our waiting areas. Within Room To Move there are 2 small waiting areas, an upstairs loft and the entryway area. There are 10 minutes in between classes to acclimate yourself appropriately. No further access to the loft once class begins. If you are running late please stay in the downstairs waiting area. The bathroom is located within the studio space so please limit bathroom use to emergencies only.
