Our classes are perfect for those of all ages interested in beginning or returning to class. We are easy going and welcoming. From those who have always wanted to give it a try to those looking to get back at it, we are here for you. No matter your age or skill level, no stress, no worries, no judgement. Just dance.
When does it start? Our program begins at the beginning of the traditional school year, in September. Classes run throughout the year with breaks for holidays as in traditional school. It concludes with our recital the weekend after Memorial day, each year. There are 4 quarters per school year and 8 classes in each quarter.
How much does it cost? The class prices listed are per quarter for each weekly class. The classes are priced by duration. 45 mins classes are $100, hour long classes are $115 & hour and a half classes are $145. We offer a number of need based scholarships. If you would like to be considered fill out our scholarship application here.
When is tuition due? Tuition is due in full upon registration and by the first class of each quarter. So, tuition is due 4 times throughout the school year. Or, approximately every other month. We offer a cash/check discount to those who pay in full, in person. And payments plans are available. May I join late? Yes! Full tuition is due for the quarter regardless of when you join. If you join late will be given a class pass for each class you have missed. You may use them in any level appropriate class. Class Passes are also transferable. You can hand them out to family and friends. All about ballet slippers. We require Eurotard Ballet Slippers for all of our ballet classes. Ballet slippers do not have a right or left foot. In fact the slippers will last longer if you switch feet each class. All clothing and shoes are available next door to Room To Move Studio at Dressed To Groove.
What if I miss a class? Missed classes may be made up in any other level appropriate class within the same quarter. Missed classes may be made up prior to the missed class when applicable; vacations etc. No refunds will be given for missed classes.
Can I wear pointe shoes? In a word, maybe. All students are encouraged to work towards dancing en pointe if they choose to do so. However, students MUST have instructors permission. Playing around in pointe shoes can be very dangerous without supervision. Beginning pointe students must must be enrolled in 2 weekly ballet classes. Experienced dancers may wear pointe shoes in all teen/adult classes.
Is there a recital? Yes! Each spring we host a student recital. We alternate yearly between 'A Dance In The Park' & 'Time To Groove'. A Dance In The Park is our picnic recital held at the Pavilion at Glasear Park in Richton Park. It is our low stress, easy going, economical, end of the year celebration recital. Each class performs a dance for family and friends. It is free to attend and the costumes are separates the students can wear in class for the following year. Time To Groove is our Theater Production at Freedom Hall in Park Forest. The whole ballet program works together on a full story ballet. We use real stage costumes and tickets are required to attend. Time To Groove is a special event. Can we watch class? Sadly, no. We do offer picture times during the first part of class for new students and special viewing days throughout the year but we do not have a viewing window for regular watching of classes. During nice weather you are welcome to watch through out front windows. There are chairs and benches on our porch for you to wait if you would like.
